6 Ultimate Tips to Boost Your Child's Confidence - Part 1
OVERVIEW
Confidence is a path to success for everyone. Confidence is a belief in your ability to master your body, behavior, personal health, and the challenges you encounter on a day-to-day basis.
👉 If your children believe more in themselves, they will take more positive risks in life, accomplish their goals and achieve success. Parents can help improve a child’s self-confidence by giving them many opportunities to practice and master their skills.
Let them make mistakes. Remind them that mistakes are normal and they are there to teach us valuable lessons. When your child has the opportunity to learn these lessons now, they will be able use those lessons later, even when they sometimes fail.
👉 Parents are the one of the main sources of a child's sense of self-worth. We welcome you to dive into this easy to follow guide to improving their confidence.
1. HELP THEM IMPROVE THEIR SELF IMAGE.
One way to improve self image is to focus on it. Asking questions like “What hairstyle do you like? Then immediately following with “Lets pick one together!”.
When they finally select one, ask “What do you like most about this one?” After they reply, agree with them. “You’re right! I think this will look great!” Eventually, the image you’re both looking for will come to life.
Another way is simply working on posture by keeping your back straight, shoulders back, and your head up level. The goal here is to become seemingly taller and more open.
👉 This will help your child feel better over time as they will realize people will start seeing them for who they are beyond appearances.
2. LET YOUR CHILD MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS.
When they make their own choices, and see the results of good ones, they will feel more powerful and confident. We definitely do not want them to make any serious life altering decisions at a young age.
However, day-to-day decisions such as what would you like for lunch or would you prefer to finish your responsibilities now so you have more time later. 👉 These micro decisions are great practice for when life presents them with the big ones.
